Bowl Possibilities

Great job, with this site.  Huskies alum from 1993.  What is your take on the Huskies bowl prospects.  I think that if  we go 3-2 the rest of the way, we will finish 7-5 and should get a bowl bid, but I'm not sure about all of the MAC tie-ins etc.....Does anyone else have any knowledge as to what the bowl chances are for the Huskies.  Also, I'm pretty impressed with Coach Kill.

One game at a time

Thx for the props. The MAC Bowl situation is always iffy. I think that 3 teams from the West will get bowl bids (barring a miracle in the East). Our games against Ball State and Central Michigan will be deciding factors. And of course we have to worry about Bowling Green this week. I’m thinking we can get a bid if we’re 8-4, but at 7-5 you’re walking a fine line.

I just hope we win this weekend so that all of next week can build up the hype for the ESPN2 game in Muncie.

MAC Bowl Bids and At-Large Opportunities

The MAC has four bowl tie-ins. We are the backup for the EagleBank Bowl so we have to root for Wake Forest, Clemson, and Miami (FL) to continue to lose. It would also help to have Navy lose four of its last five games but with games against Temple, Army, and SMU they will most likely reach the needed six win plateau. CUSA has six bowl games but only four teams with winning records right now. So that could open up some at-large possibilities for the MAC. The PAC-10 also looks like it won’t fill all its bowl games either with only five teams looking like they will have six wins. That would leave two PAC-10 bowl games open for at-large bids. However, the WAC recently signed with one of them so that would really only leave one bowl game available for an at-large bid.
