Recruit skips Florida to visit NIU

Here is some awesome recruiting news regarding one of the Florida kids that we're trying to recruit come National Signing Day Feb 4th.

WAVE OF OPTIMISM: Curtis defensive back Kenny Cain, a member of the TP Top 25 Blue Chip List, traveled to DeKalb, Ill., this weekend for an official visit to Northern Illinois of the Mid-American Conference, Curtis Coach J.T. Curtis said.

Cain was scheduled to visit Florida this weekend and still has an official offer from the Gators, but he opted to cancel the trip given the unlikelihood of him choosing the national champions as a final destination. “Kenny told me, ‘Coach, I want to go somewhere where somebody wants me,” Curtis said. “He said, ‘I know I’m not that big to be playing linebacker. I don’t want to go somewhere where it’s going to be an uphill fight to play.

He knows that he can play early in Coach Kill's rotating defense at OLB.  Can't wait to see who decides to sign on the dotted line come NSD.  Could also play RB if needed for us.
