Nothing but praise for #51 going in to Saturday

English is getting a lot of love...even from the big boys.  In a mock draft today on ESPN, Mel Kiper had LE going at pick #24 in the first going to the Atlanta Falcons.  He's beginning to look more and more like a rush LB to NFL teams.

The Bears need a pass rusher (Chicago Tribune):

"I don't know where my stock is going," English said. "All I'm doing is coming out and trying to have fun. I'm really trying not to be too conscious of things I can't control. But if I had the choice, I'd say I'd be the No. 1 pick."

Wednesday was the last practice in pads for the week (SI):

Larry English/DE-OLB/Northern Illinois: The undersized defensive end beat opponents all day by playing with speed and athleticism. English is a fluid lineman who easily moves about the field and exploited big, immobile blockers to makes plays behind the line of scrimmage.

Todd McShay has been a fan for a while (ESPN):

Meanwhile, other defensive linemen such as Northern Illinois' Larry English and Boston College's B.J. Raji have capitalized on the opportunity with outstanding overall performances.

We could see some dropback from LE in the game Saturday (ProFootballWeekly):

→  Northern Illinois DE Larry English did some work with the linebackers in coverage drills and seemed to handle himself well. English projects as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 front.
