As usual, you can watch the game at Fatty's watch party. Go there people.
Guide to Central Michigan:
- QB Dan LeFevour - Basically Chandler Harnish if Chandler Harnish spent every morning chopping down trees and eating several stacks of pancakes.
- WR/PR Antonio Brown - The fastest player that will be on the field. We'll stupidly "rugby" punt to him and he will return it to the house.
- LB Nick Bellore - Somehow plays every position on CMU's defense by himself and makes every tackle.
I can't figure out any way possible on paper that we beat the Chips, which means that we promptly will. My gameplan would be to run right at them, but all of our running backs our hurt and Coach Kill refuses to use sleeper stud Justin Anderson in his last game as a Huskie. We're screwed, which means we have the advantage.
I don't know...I've gotta feeling...Or you might say that I'm hooked on a feeling.
This will be the first NIU game that I have missed (watched or listened to) since 2005's West Division-clinching win over Western Michigan at home. The reason: I was on a plane. Today's reason: I am on a plane. Yeah, yeah I know they're adding wi-fi to airports/planes daily, but I'm that tech savvy or rich.
NIU is 1-0 in those games. Let's hope that streak holds up...GO HUSKIES!!!
And Go Rockets! <-----I'll need a shower after that statement, but bowl chances are bowl chances. Other games of interest:
Temple Owls (9-2, 7-0) @ Ohio Bobcats (8-3, 6-1) - 10 AM CST on ESPNU
Toledo Rockets (5-6, 3-4) @ Bowling Green Falcons (6-5, 5-2) - 1 PM on ESPNU

Stuck at Work
I’m relying on you if I can’t get 360 up and running…or if it dies 3 holes in like for the US Open.
Uh...
I wouldn’t rely on myself cuz I’m in San Jose airport about to take off. Ohio up 7-0 on Temple early. Will check in in around 3 hrs or so.

No worries
I have 360 up and running for the moment. So I’ll handle the thread with updates when I can, i.e. not during my lunch. Slow day at the old office. When I’m not on check out Twitter.com/NSSports for updates from Ben Gross. Go Huskies!!

Running Backs
Huskie Wire on Twitter says Me’co Brown is No. 4 on the chart today behind CSpann, Ricky Crider and Justin Anderson. Apparently JA won’t be seeing the ball a lot again…no surprise.
Keys
Here are John Shaly’s keys to the game: http://www.huskiewire.com/articles/2009/11/26/89172093/index.xml
My Keys to the game
1. Establish the run game early and often: The less Dan LeFevour is on the field, the better. I think even John Sahly is on board with JA getting some carries, especially if CSpann is not 100 percent. Not to keep harking on it, but 1,300 yards in D-I is no fluke.
2. Contain, contain, contain: They Danny L hurts opponents the most is being the complete QB by spreading the field with his legs, directing receivers and pinpoint accuracy. Don’t let him get outside the pocket and make him one-dimensional. Easier said than done, I know.
3. Antonio Brown: He’ll get the ball alot as the Huskies showed a weakness versus Ball State. A lot of different sets and looks with playmakers seem to throw them off. Brown is fast. NFL-type fast. Danny L has other weapons, but this is the most dangerous one.
4. Focus: Don’t worry about a bowl game, just focus on winning the one at hand. Looking ahead will get you crushed.
Now the punt team comes on…stops Brown at the CMU 14

Halftime
24-10 CMU, this game got ugly quick. LeFevour turned on his game and found Kito Poblah for 16, then Harnish hit Landon Cox for 32 and Schroeder answered with a TD run on a nice CMU drive to go up 24-10.
Offense
Huskies’ offense just isn’t being effective but are gaining yards. Spann has 61 yards on 12 carries and Harnish is 8-of-13 for 101 yards, one TD and one INT. LeFevour is 16-of-28 for 159 and 2 TDs. Schroeder has 48 yards rushing on eight carries. Antonio Brown, four catches-four yards, two carries-16 yards.
Replay
Seeing the replay of that first TD to Schroeder, the screen, Jake Coffman had a huge rush up the middle on LeFevour but a quick release stopped the sack.
Average Start
NIU is averaging a start at their own 26-yard line, while CMU is from their own 41-yard line.
By averages, LeFevour needs only 3 first downs to get in scoring position per drive

24-10 CMU, ineffective offense and that Dan guy is causing issues.
by Jerry Burnes on Nov 27, 2009 1:47 PM CST up reply actions
The fake was to Brown and Schroesder broke one tackle and was gone from there. Poblah almost committed a block in the back but held off, ref was right there too.
by Jerry Burnes on Nov 27, 2009 1:50 PM CST up reply actions
So that’s 9 carries, 128 yards, 2 rush TDs, 4 catches 41 yards 1 TD for SChroeder

Thanks for updating the game.
I’m down with not much of an internet connection so I’m not going to be around much until tonight.
I looked at the box score and my conclusion was pretty much what you wrote.
I’ll be back later to check out what you thought of the game.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
3 & out
Again, Harsnish scrambled but didn’t get it..illegal procedure NIU on the punt…punt down on CMU 22-yard line
Tiger Woods
My AP Mobile breaking news says Tiger injued in car accident outside his home and charges pending, not sure on who though.
Hope he's ok. Sounds pretty serious

LeFevour darts away from Coffman and runs for about 12-13 inside the NIU 20, fisrt down

A lot of his throws are from the pocket today, NFL scouts like that

Nation of Rotation
Jerry Kill needs to stop the rotation system throughout the season in my opinion. Offense never has been in rythym for a long period this season and its showing big time today.
The choppy feed makes this more frustrating to watch.

LeFevour eludes ANOTHER sack and gets maybe a yard or two, 3rd and 9

Choppy video must mess up my view some…no challenge, CMU ball and close to a first again and the end of 3, 38-10
by Jerry Burnes on Nov 27, 2009 2:22 PM CST up reply actions
unwatchable
Kill needs to learn how to get his teams ready to play against better opponents. Another sure loss to a better team. One win against a team with a winning record would be nice.
Overmatched
That’s what NIU was today. Bowl game could be close again. Maybe CMU can accept a better bowl and get ranked after today.
Personal foul on CMU, TD stands, 38-17, about an 80-yard return
