'09 NIU Schedule Hard to Predict
I'm having fits trying to figure this year's football schedule. Two Big-Ten away games, but against schools that are in real transition. We could have a real shot. Many tough away games, but we have some terrific returning talent, especially on defense. Lots of challenges, but I see a tremendous positive attitude among the players. Right now, the conventional wisdom is a 6-6 season with NIU losing every big game. I just can't see that happening. More likely is that the team will come together. If things click, we're talking at least 8-9 wins with some great upsets. If not, then we're in for another typical season for a MAC School -- play tough and finish at or near .500. What think ye...?

I agree
I waver each day on this topic. One day I’m worried about Akron, the next day playing in Athens.
I think that 8-4 is a good prediction though if we can take care of business at home.

We should win all of our home games. It would be disappointing if we don’t. Add in wins over Miami and very winnable games against Ohio, Toledo, and Purdue. Our toughest games will be Wisconsin and Central Michigan. We should win a minimum of six games.

Speaking of the schedule
I just realized the next home game is on Halloween. I think I might need to take a trip back out to DeKalb for that one.
Also, the November 12 Thursday “Night” home game against Ball State starts at 5pm?!? Really? 5pm? WTF?
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
