Saturday Scrimmage/Weekend Open Thread

Tomorrow when practice starts @ 9:50 I'll be testing out the effectiveness of mobile posting on Red and Black Attack.  I plan to run a live blog for every single game for this upcoming season.

It's easy for you to join in if you have internet on your phone.  Just visit this site, log in and start commenting away while you're tailgating or when you're in the fan section.  It doesn't matter!  Or if you're at home on your computer you can join in the conversation as well.

Stop by and say hi.

Tomorrow is FAN DAY, which entails...

Gates on the west side of the stadium will open at 9 a.m. with the team taking the field for their regularly scheduled practice beginning at 9:50 a.m. The event is free and open to the public and fans will be able to stand on the sidelines to get an up close and personal look at this year's squad. Seating in the West Stands is also available. Prior to, during and after the scrimmage, season ticket holders and Huskie Athletic Scholarship Fund donors will be able to pick up their 2009 season tickets & HASF benefits at the west side ticket windows at Huskie Stadium. Any tickets not picked up will be mailed the following week.

Following the practice, which will consist primarily of 11-on-11 drills with officials on hand, Huskie players will be available for autographs. Fans can pick up free schedule posters, magnets and schedule cards for the 2009 season.

Whoo goodies!!!

Not that interested in autographs, but I will be following closely to the following:

1. The Wide Receivers

My eyes will be glued to these guys for the biggest part of practice, because they are the biggest mystery on the team.  Will look specifically at how freshmen Daniel Rodriguez & Perez Ashford do.

2. The D-Line

Who will be stepping up big-time to replace the losses of both Krause & Jenkins in the middle.  Also, who's causing pressure off the outside, which leads us to...

3. The O-Line

The right side is one of the biggest ongoing position battles throughout all of camp.  It will be interesting to see who's working where and who is impressing on that side of the ball.

Hope to see you all there.
