Tim Riordan at Bull Run has an interesting question in the weekly MAC blogger roundtable regarding which MAC coaches might be poised to "move up" after this season, and naturally Jerry Kill is on the list. With back to back bowl appearances and NIU at 8-2 so far this season and in position to make a trip to the MAC Championship Game and a bowl, he could be a very attractive option. The Minneapolis St. Paul Star-Tribune includes him on the list of coaches who might be under consideration for the open spot at Minnesota. In theory, Colorado could consider him along with any other team that fires a coach this year.
At only 49 years of age, Kill has a history of turning around ailing programs and has a list of experienced coordinators who have been with him for a decade. In addition, Kill has been recruiting the Midwest for several years between his time at SIU and NIU. So that being said, is NIU on the verge of losing Kill?
