Demarcus Grady joins basketball team

DeMarcus Grady is joining the mens basketball team according to ESPN Chicago. He was an All-State honorable mention in high school. Practiced with the team on monday, and is traveling with the team Wednesday when they travel to SIU. Patton has nothing else to lose, so he grasps at another straw. Should be interesting, hopefully it doesn't turn out like the opener against Iowa State did. I wonder if he will stay on the football team or just chose to play basketball for the rest of his Huskie career.

Interesting.

I’m heading out in a couple hours for Carbondale.

Go Huskies!!!!!!!

I’ll let you know what I think of Grady if he gets in.

1st half thoughts

Huskies are hanging around despite some poor inside shooting. Oh, and Silas is ICE COLD with 5 points. He even missed his 1st FT. And he’s had plenty of open looks.

Nate Rucker is a player. Much more size than I realized.

Going forward, the Huskies don’t need to.be looking to the refs for any help.

also,

10 of 35 from the field and 1 of 10 from behind the arc.

And I don’t think I’ll see Grady tonight. He’s on the bench but isn’t on the roster in the program. Not sure what number he’ll be wearing.

10 minutes left

And Silas has his warmup back on. Doubt he hoes back in the game. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear tomorrow that he’s sick. Looked and shot absolutely horrible..

And, as I type this, he’s back in. Still think he’s sick.

pretty bad game.

SIU isn’t very good and NIU still lost by 12.

If Silas had shot anywhere near what he’s done all year, we might have won this game. But, I can’t stress it enough, he’s got to be sick. Missed shots by Silas of all kinds of varieties. Off the side of the backboard, airball, missed layups (one of which hit the bottom of the rim), bad passes. He played good defense though. And I have to say, even when he’s struggling as badly as he did and he’s wearing his frustration on his sleeve (like he did tonight), the team just looks lost if he’s not on the court.

On another note: Landry did his best to pick up the slack. He played hard and pretty well.

I’m not sure what benefit Tim Toller brings the team. Except that he’s a pretty good free throw shooter.

As noted before, Nate Rucker is a player. So is Bryan Hall who got the shitty end of an intentional foul call. When the refs finally went to the video replay to see what the SIU player did to Hall (Tay), they couldn’t get the monitor to work……..figures.

Also, much like Toler, I’m not sure what Askel Bolin does.

Michael Patton played well at times.

Tyler Storm saw the court.

Antone Christian played a bit and held his own.

Lee Fisher does nothing for me.
