NIU Bowl Ranked 30th by CFN...
30. uDrove Humanitarian Bowl
December 18, 2010 Boise, ID 5:30 pm ESPN
Fresno State vs. Northern Illinois
Three Reasons To Watch This Bowl: 1) The NIU running game really is special, even if it didn't show it against Miami University in the MAC Championship choke. 2) The Fresno State defensive front is among the most active and the most productive at getting into the backfield as any in the nation. 3) It's a sneaky-good matchup. NIU really is the MAC's best team, while Fresno State has the explosiveness on offense to make this an offensive show. The Humanitarian Bowl has been among the most competitive of all the bowls over the last several years.
And Why You Should Spend Your Time Roasting Your Chestnuts: NIU might be down after the MAC championship and with head coach Jerry Kill leaving for Minnesota. Fresno State doesn't have a consistent attack.
Three Names To Drop That'll Make The Perky Girl In Accounting Want To Take You Into The Storeroom During The Holiday Party For Smooches: 1) RB Chad Spann, NIU, 2) DE Chris Carter, Fresno State, 3) RB Robbie Rouse, Fresno State
Gut-Reaction Pick That Might Change In The Next Few Days On A Whim: Fresno State 27 ... Northern Illinois 20

Ranking impacted by BLUE field
just one man’s opinion
prediction: Fresno State will be feeling a little blue on Dec 18
I really wish I had an extra $2400 to go see this one!
The MAC really needs to get a bowl in St Louis or Indy against any BCS school.
yeah, really.
If only NIU had an extra $500K that maybe they weren’t expecting… maybe they could spring for travel expenses.

oooh the poetic justice in that!
to go to the bowl on Coach Kill/Minnesota’s dime.
(don’t you hate people that reply to their own messages)

I hope they dont go and blow that money on beer and pizza!
Either put it towards paying off the Yorden Center or bank it for coaches raises after the next guy proves himself.
The math just doesn't work out....
I was thinking we might have something here @ $500K every 3 years… But, what’s a new stadium $10M? That’s like 60 years, then you figure in inflation and the fact that some coaches might ACTUALLY stay longer than 3 years. Oh well. It’s like the bottle deposits from MI, you just can’t get the math to work out in order to make it work.

oh, sorry Coach Kill
I didn’t mean to compare you to an empty, discarded, sticky, disgusting, piece of garbage that gets ground up into pulp in order to be recycled. he he

Arkons new stadium was 61.6 mil
We really just need to pay off the Yordon Center (I think its around 2 mil).
Then get the money for the IPF. Depending on the quality of the building it could be between 4-16mil
gettin there
they offer the students 20 dollars for hotel and game ticket, but they told us we gotta get there. idk how many of us students at niu can afford the 600 for flights and drivin there aint gotta be cheap either. i dont see niu having a big fan base at this game.
I really like the idea of a game in st louis or indy thats would be ideal for the MAC

Two other bowls are inline first
The LA Christmas Bowl
The Cure bowl in Orlando
Someone can write to the MAC, St. Louis and Indy and give them a proposal or idea for one. We would have to wait till three bowls went belly up. Shouldn’t be more than 5 years.
