This could get ugly
If we could win just one out of the 4 that would be a huge success.
Although you can’t forget the weekend in late Feb last year when the Huskies beat perennial power Missouri 5-2 and then lost to Oregon State 2-1 the following day.
THE SKIP IS LEGIT!!
Leadoff walk ugh
Huskies always have problems with walks and errors early in the season. “warm state schools” have a distinct advantage early on.
THE SKIP IS LEGIT!!
"6-4-3 Double Play!"
Ah how I’ve missed those words.
Cmon people where are you?!?! This is what we waited all winter for! lol
THE SKIP IS LEGIT!!
Where do they practice?
I played high school baseball and know it was a pain in the ass taht first game going out not having been on a field practicin in doors because snow practicin in parking lots. Where have these guys even been getting work in at?
They practice at the campus rec center and the indoor place next to Dekalb HS
Not exactly ideal. Arizona State has probably been practicing outside for a month.
THE SKIP IS LEGIT!!
yea thats a pain
i can understand there problems then and like you said az state has huge advantage with warm weather. As long as they compete and get ready for the mac thats all that matters.

That's a good question..
I’m curious whether schools with IPF’s let their baseball teams use them. Obviously they could put hitting cages in there and do field drills, bullpens, etc but they can do these types of things at The Rec too.
The real detriment is not being able to simulate “game situations” – live batting practice, fly balls, etc etc. I assume most IPF’s would be big enough for coaches to hit fly balls but I doubt simulated games and scrimmages would be possible.
THE SKIP IS LEGIT!!
I would assume the IPF would be for football only.
Most IPFs for baseball are limited. They’ll never be tall enough for fly ball work and in order to hit, you have to protect everything unless you’re in a cage (which, like stated, you can do anywhere).
There’s an indoor training facility in West Chicago (and another one real close but I’m not positive what town it’s in…maybe St. Charles or Carol Stream) that has a full infield. It helps in that you can work on your infield defense but simulating any real baseball situations with hitters is impossible.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
Interesting to see
Hood in RF. It makes room for Beckmann in LF. Probably the best lineup you can throw out there.
Only Krupp and Reynolds have hits. Etch and Beckmann have 1 BB each. Lukanen is getting shelled.

Aaaaaaand it's gotten ugly
ASU announcers said weather doesn’t look good for tomorrow’s double header.
THE SKIP IS LEGIT!!
I'm going to make an effort to follow the Huskie baseball team this season.
I’ve never in the past and being such a big baseball fan I’d like to. For whatever reason though, I’ve never gotten in to college baseball. I watch MLB all the time and even go to a lot of high school games especially the state tournament (I even coached HS baseball for 2 years and would still be doing it but I don’t work in a high school anymore).
Thanks to this blog, I’ll be able to increase my college ball exposure. Mike and the rest to a great job here.
