Former NIU Wide Receiver Sam Hurd did some not-so-legal things

Sam Hurd is the second leading receiver in Northern Illinois history with 2,322 yds over the course of his college career from 2002-2005.

However, the current Chicago Bear is under some SERIOUS federal charges trying to buy 5-10 kilos of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana to deal weekly in Chicago. Of course he told this request face-to-face with an undercover federal agent, leading to Hurd being arrested.

Hurd went to high school in San Antonio, TX, but it doesn't seem as though his problems started until he latched on as a Dallas Cowboy.

He was picked up as an undrafted FA by Dallas in 2006 and came to the Bears just before the 2011 season. He was mostly a role-player and played on special teams tallying up 53 rec for 739 yds and 2 tds for his 6-year career. He also had 65 tackles on kick coverages.

In college, he kept his nose clean (haha) aside from one little skirmish at a frat house where a bottle got smashed on his head and had to wear a huge bandage for the entire 2005 season.

This is by far the most heinous thing ever done by a former NIU athlete, a program with zero all-time Fulmer Cup points.
