I didn't like the kickoff coverage all day long. Wedel's kicks were fine, but he doesn't have the leg to boot it into the endzone whatsoever. So we're going to have to deal with the kickfoff coverage team, which needs some major re-tooling.
How much does this matter? During the track meet, the only decent job we did is when the KU player fell down on their 17 yd line. The result? A Kansas field goal instead of a touchdown.
They don't score if we hold the Jayhawks inside their own 20 on that last kickoff. In a fit of hilarity, S Dechane Durante runs past the ball carrier on his first attempt to make a tackle, catches up with Beshears only to miss yet another tackle. Luckily, I couldn't make out most of the other missed tackles, but Durante had another one earlier on that I could make out as well.
Either this needs to be hammered down over the next week or there need to be some personnel changes, but another performance like this vs. Wisconsin isn't going to cut it.
Oh, and we're also 109th in the country in kickoff returns as well. After the jump is the breakdown of every kickoff in the game.

KU player slipped and fell.
Hilarious how Durante misses his first try at Beshears, catches up with him and misses him again. Makes you scratch your head and go hmmm. Then Porter misses him and it's a big fiasco.
