Bowl Season could have the NIU Huskies vs Iowa State Cyclones in Dallas. - Matthew Holst
Projecting the 2012/13 MAC Bowl Matchups.
The MAC currently has SIX bowl eligible teams with three teams not yet ineligible. The latest NCB projections have a total of 71 bowl eligible teams for 70 available spots, with the MAC ending up with eight bowl eligible teams.
If events play out as predicted, the team that does not get to go bowling (aka gets screwed) will likely come from the MWC, Sun Belt, or possibly the MAC.
As mentioned in the NCB MAC Bowl Season introductory article, the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl is projected not to have an eligible Big Ten team available and that it will instead host a team from the Sun Belt Conference. The other primary bowls should feature opponents as contracted.
Regarding the secondary agreements, NCB is still projecting that the New Mexico Bowl will not become available to a MAC team but is amending the initial prediction that the Heart of Dallas Bowl will not become available and now has a MAC team bowling in Dallas, as well as the other secondary locales of Birmingham and St. Petersburg.
NCB also projects that the Military Bowl and Independence Bowl will host teams from the MAC.
The three Primary Bowls are listed first, followed by the four Secondary Bowls, and thirdly by the projected At-Large Bowls.
