Northern Illinois Football Releases Depth Chart for Iowa

Jonathan Daniel

NIU two-deeps released and there is a surprise starter at RB.

It's that part of the year folks. NIU officially released the depth charts for the Iowa game. There's not too many surprises outside who is projected to start at RB for the Huskies. Plus, who is going to step up in the front seven on defense. I'm sure everyone is on the edge of their seats wondering who Lynch's backup is going to be as well.

20 Keith Harris, Jr. (5-8, 181, So.) .............................Chicago, IL

THOUGHTS:

Cameron Stingily as starting running back? As predicted, Akeem Daniels doesn't look like he's going to play in this one. Stingily fills in nicely as that HOSS back that can do a lot and try to soften up the Iowa defense. Last year we didn't have a big back like this after Womble disappeared. They'll switch some other guys in there, but Stingily will be the man. The former 3-star MLB prospect out of Romeoville is making things happen.

The backup QB race is a thing, but I think that McIntosh will be the man with experience. Let's hope we never have to deal with this situation. Interesting to see the RT position being taken over by Krempel or Brown. The WRs look beautiful.

THOUGHTS:

Defensive line is predictable at the starter level but the depth makes me nervous.

LB is strange because SANTA had a bunch of experience last year but is relegated to backup MLB spot? I'm not buying it. He'll see action all over the field. Rasheen "ROCK" Lemon goes from being backup to Bass to gaining his own starting spot. If you look at the backups you see the biggest FRESHMAN ALERT on the roster. This position may be green but I dare say the talent potential is off the charts as compared to any other year in NIU's history.

I love the defensive backs. They'll lead this team to the promised land.
