The biggest injury news of the week surrounds stud WR Tommylee Lewis, who caught 5 passes for 82 yds and 2 TDs vs Iowa in week one before leaving with an apparent ankle injury. Will he be back on Saturday? According to the gamenotes, yes:
WR 10 Tommylee Lewis (5-7, 155, Jr.) ................ Riviera Beach, FL
85 Angelo Sebastiano (6-0, 205, So.-R) .Coconut Creek, FL
Carey said he was getting better in the press conference:
On the health of Tommylee Lewis
"Yeah, he's going to go today and we're going to get him out there and run around some. I know he's excited, so are we. "
I fully expect him to get some reps against Idaho. It is likely that the Huskies will get up early though so he can hit the bench early and get some rest. Angelo Sebastiano has been bumped up to the #1 guy on kickoff returns. And Paris Logan may step up at this spot if Lewis doesn't hit the special teams.
As for last year's top RB Akeem Daniels, it's a different story:
On Akeem Daniels remaining out with injury
"Yeah, right now. I think, in fact with anything, its day-to-day right?"
So, unlikely. Maybe by the Purdue game?
RT Matt Krempel got the start vs Iowa, but now Ryan Brown is listed as the starter with an OR ahead of Krempel. It was the opposite last week.
Redshirt freshman DT Mario Jones earned the surprise start vs. Iowa and is projected to start vs Idaho ahead of an OR Donovan Gordon.
