Defensive Lineman Kyle Jenkins out for the season with torn ACL

I wouldn't call Mike Krause's situation an "injury", so there's no bug or anything but our defensive line is wearing thin by each practice.

Junior Kyle Jenkins was an early Spring enrollee that just came off a 19-sack NJCAA All-American year at Harper College.  We even did a Q&A session with the big guy back during Spring Practice:

KJ: I went to Harper because I really wasn't recruited real hard coming out of high school. I had one D2 offer and NIU and Illinois wanted me to walk-on. I also tore my ACL partially during the spring of my senior year. So the best place for me to go was Harper.

Coach Kill had just moved Jenkins in from the D-End spot to play at Defensive Tackle earlier this week and this ends up happening.  He wasn't expected to start, but was projected to receive significant playing time in the middle.

Per sources, The injury happened Wednesday and he got his MRI today.  The newly minted #96 also apparently tore his MCL and Meniscus as well, so it's not looking too good right now for a late-season return.  He will more than likely take a medical redshirt and hopefully be back for next season as a Huskie retaining his Junior eligibility.

Our thoughts go out to Kyle and wish him well and a speedy recovery.
